The ultimate guide for a Bachelorette party in Las Vegas

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, arrives in my blog in the form of useful tips for you!

Here is the ultimate Bachelorette party guide in Las Vegas!

You might be thinking, is Las Vegas right for my girl? The answer is Yes! While Sin city puts the emphasis on sin, strippers, gambling, the city has quite literally something for everyone. If you are outdoorsy, the Grand Canyon is a few hours away, if you are a foodie, the world’s best chefs have their restaurants there and the list goes on and on.

There is not much I can tell you about Las Vegas that you haven’t seen in films, TV shows, and popular culture in general. The city is exactly what you would imagine and at the same time, it can surprise you.

Useful tips for planning your bachelorette party activities

Since you will be a group of girls it is probably best to check for packages. These usually include the plane and the hotel. However, check if there are any bachelorette party packages specials. If you don’t find a package tailored for the occasion, call the hotel or at the check-in to ask if they have anything special for bachelorette parties. This is a city tailored for these parties so they will probably have a surprise for you.

Always try to see if you can get group discounts for tours or shows. It obviously depends on the number of people you are.

Don’t forget to pack a tiara, veil or sash or other fun things to make this getaway unforgettable.

Do you have a specific club you want to party in? You might want to check which hotels it belongs to, you might have a great deal! For example, If you’re staying at one of the MGM hotels, you can have your names added to the VIP list of their clubs, free of charge.

Check with the concierge of the hotel for other deals or advantages your hotel has.

Travelling with a group means making a lot of concessions, make sure you plan time for things that you want to do, after all, you don’t go to Vegas every day. Take an afternoon solo or with another girl to do things that you like. For example, pools party are not for you and you rather go to a museum, do that!

Day 1

Hit the Strip

Las Vegas Strip is the downtown core where all the big casinos and hotels are, it goes from the Stratosphere to Mandalay Bay. It is around 6km long of concentrated activities. Your hotel will probably be here so do this upon arrival to get the lay of the land.

The Strip is an opulent street with a mix of over-the-top richness and falseness visible in the hotels that want to mimic Paris, Egypt and Venice all in one place. You can argue that it is an architectural and urban planning disaster or you can argue exactly the contrary with all the endless possibilities. Either way, this is where the action starts!

Pro tip: If you don’t have tickets for clubs to get them there, you will find countless promoters selling them. BUT be sure that they are not a scam!

Eat at a fancy restaurant

Las Vegas has an extensive and sophisticated foodie scene. Eater has a list of 11 restaurants that are perfect for a bachelorette party. Or you can opt for a fine dining experience at one of the world-renown restaurants.

We decided to eat at the restaurant Gaby Mon Amour at the Paris hotel. This is your typical French Bistro. The upside of this dining experience is their terrace that overlooks the Bellagio fountains which are just across the street. On the second night, we went dining at Otto Enoteca, an Italian restaurant. Try the Cauliflower Frittelle, it was delicious!

Enjoy the Bellagio fountains

So what are the Bellagio fountains? It is probably one of the most recognizable landmarks of the city. There are more than 1,200 geysers that dance to the music and lights, the show starts every 15 min at night and every 30 min during the day.

Hit the clubs

There is no shortage of clubs in Sin City and there is no shortage of great DJs giving their best performance for you to dance to. In fact, the best and world-renown DJs are residents in some of these clubs.

I’m not a party animal so I might not be the greatest reference for this. We bought tickets for Tao and Marquee nightclub from a promoter. Visiting the stylish Cosmopolitan hotel for the Marquee was worth going there. Don’t forget to order bottle service to get the party going.

Day 2

Brunch with bottomless mimosas

Because a bachelorette weekend without mimosas is incomplete. There are more than 40 vegas restaurants offering bottomless mimosas to fuel your party. Eater has a pretty extensive list here. If you are looking for something bigger, then there is the Giant mimosa brunch, Mimosas Gourmet offers the largest mimosa in Nevada.

Pool Party!

A pool party in Vegas is a must. They started around 10 years ago and have been a hit ever since. These are like a day club in the water. Some of these day pools are impressive! The Mandalay Bay pool has a lazy river, a man-made sandy beach and a wave pool. Others have waterfalls or a swim-up bar with blackjack tables. The Encore beach club at the Wynn is also a popular one. The regular pool party season runs from the end of March to September.

If Pool parties are not for you, here are a few ideas, don’t worry, see below.

SEVEN MAGIC MOUNTAINS

Located Half an hour south of Las Vegas, this public art project has become a must-do thanks to IG. The art installation is located in the middle of the desert and was done by the Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone. The work has seven 30-foot-high totems painted with neon colours which are highlighted even more by the desert. The piece is meant to comment on human presence in the natural environment.

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

The legendary sign is a must-stop. Frankly, there is not much to do there other than take a picture, but no trip to Vegas is complete without it. Ever wondered about what was written behind the Las Vegas sign? This is your chance to know it. I frankly never thought about it until I went there.

Be an art and museum lover

If partying is not your thing and you are more of a culture vulture, then the city also has something for you.

The Neon Museum collects the old iconic signs from the city from the ‘50s. It has about 120 signs, made from the 1950s-80s. On a guided tour, you will see how these signs are extremely intertwined with technology, trends and the city’s history.

Pro tip: You need to buy the tickets at least one month in advance

Go to the Mob Museum - because we wouldn’t call it the sin city without the mob implication in this city. The museum showcases the history of organized crime in the United States.

For the artsy ones, go to Aria Fine Art Collection, and one of the 21 public art sites around the CityCenter. The best thing about these outdoor art galleries is that they are free! Go see the street murals and art scene at Arts Factory in the Downtown Arts District and Downtown Container Park

Go to a show!

Vegas wouldn’t be vegas without its lavish shows. Whether you want to go to a concert by one of the best artists, go see a Cirque du Soleil spectacle or a male revue, the choice is yours and the one of the bride-to-be.

We decided not to go Magic Mike live and leave it for only a TV dream and go to see Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson ONE. The amazing show has more dancing than traditional circus acrobatics and immerses you into the world of the king of pop. The custom-made theatre for the show is at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. This custom-made theatre allows having this show year-long.

Day 3

Get ready to be outdoorsy! The great outdoors is waiting for you in this part of the globe.

Red Rock Canyon

Located only a half-hour or so from Las Vegas, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation is a great day trip or half-day trip from Vegas. Here you can take a 13-mile scenic drive, and several hiking and trails. In fact, it offers 26 different trails, the most famous one is Calico Hills Trail

Grand Canyon

The bride-to-be’s only condition for saying yes to Vegas was to go to the Grand Canyon.

We decided to book a tour at the hotel and visit the West Rim. The only downside of visiting the Grand Canyon from Vegas is that they are a little far and I found that I could not get enough, I wanted to stay longer and see more of the canyon. I’m definitely going back to a longer stay here. There are different tours that can take you to the West Rim and North Rim and South Rim. These last 2 are around 4 hours away from Vegas. The drive to the West Rim takes On average, two and a half hours.

Our experience in the Grand Canyon was an unusual one. Imagine yourself at 240 m high in the Grand Canyon in the middle of the summer as the temperature rises above 35C and suddenly it starts to rain, then the rain becomes hail! Yes, you read that right, HAIL, in the middle of the summer, in the desert! At the top, the clay-like floor became super slippery and we were trying to climb down. We were scared AF! Fortunately, we were able to leave without a scratch! What a day!

What did our tour comprise?

All the tour buses have all the same stops: Joshua Trees, Eagle Point, Guano Point & finally the famous Hoover Dam. The bus leaves you at the first destination and then you take a shuttle in between the stops. Besides the four stops, you can take a walking tour through a recreation of Native American dwellings. There is also a souvenir shop with Handmade Native American jewellery and crafts.

Through the drive, you can admire the desert and the arid scenery. A few RVs in the middle of the canyon will make you wonder if they are imitating the scheme of Breaking Bad.

The most beautiful view is Guano Point. The colours, the altitude, the magnitude and the dazzling lines really are breathtaking beauty. It is considered a High Point Hike where you can climb the canyon and enjoy the view. Just try not to fall ;) as there are no barriers for safety.

Take it easy!

Now that you are back from your amazing day trip, take it easy for your next activity. Maybe go to the Old Las Vegas, you can bar hop at Fremont Street or go to a speakeasy.  Or you can also go to a happy hour or go to one of the city famous buffets.

The old Las Vegas, also known as Fremont Street, gives you a glimpse of the other side of the medal, the addiction and the poverty that reigns over the city is not pretty to see. This was more evident as I went there in the morning alone where the city is still half asleep and half hangover.

Other things to do

There is literally a gazillion of things to do in the city for a vegas bachelorette party. You can do take some pole dancing classes, hit strip clubs, have a day spa, rent a party bus, have a crazy wedding there. I mean the list can go on and on for days. You obviously cannot do them all in 3 days so choose to mix and match what fits your group the best.

Practical tips

What to pack?

As always, it depends on what you do but I will make sure I will back comfortable shoes, sunblock, a hat and a water bottle. If you are going in the summer, the weather is very intense. One of the girls on our trip had a heat stroke from the intense heat.

Where to stay?

Stay on the Strip, if possible,  you will be well located and you will have easy access to the big landmarks.

We stayed at the Venetian resort. This humongous complex is the world's second-largest hotel, with more than 4,000 rooms, has several pools, restaurants, casinos, clubs and an internal mall. It's built to resemble Venice in its architecture, it has internal canals with gondolas and ubiquitous fake Renaissance paintings, crazy and over the top, I know! You can easily spend your whole trip in the hotel without ever leaving it.

Getting around

I highly recommend taking a Uber or a Lyft, it is not recommended to take buses as they don’t deserve the area fully and are not practical. For a full extravaganza, you can rent a limo.

So are you ready to assemble your bridal party and go for an unforgettable trip?
